Healthy Kids Medical Insurance Eligibility

Healthy Kids Cobertura Médica

If your child is uninsured because of the high cost of health insurance or because you do not have access through your employer, NH Healthy Kids can help. NH Healthy Kids provides free or low-cost health insurance to uninsured New Hampshire children.

PREMIUMS: Healthy Kids (HK) premiums are based on family size and income. Income includes any income earned from working or self-employment and unearned income such as child support, alimony, Social Security Disability (SSDI), other Social Security payments, unemployment, Veteran's, or Worker's Compensation benefits, or any income received on a regular basis.

Check the monthly income limits below to see if your child qualifies for subsidized health insurance and what the premium will be. If your child is a Native American Indian or Alaskan Native, you will not have to pay a premium.

Your family's income may be adjusted to reflect certain additional expenses such as child care (see below). So if you are close to the income limits -- even if slightly over -- print the Healthy Kids Application-English (8 pages), answer all the questions, SIGN it and MAIL it. It's that simple!

Once per year we review your information to see if you or your children still qualify for Healthy Kids insurance or Medical Coverage for Pregnant Women.  Complete the Renewal Application and send with proofs.

EXPENSES:

  • Child or Adult Day Care so you can work.
  • Court-Ordered Child or Spousal Support.
  • Wage garnishment.
